60 years to finally getting a pair of Red Ball Jets

I guess I'm going through my second childhood. I wasn't ever able to get RBJ's when I was a kid. I now have a pair and love them. They are a bit narrow and I didn't see a wide version, So I'm hoping they will stretch. Otherwise, I love them!

    Much to my surprise!

This was a pair of sneakers that I wanted all the way back in 1964 when I started kindergarten. I begged my mother to get them for me... I wanted to "run faster, jump higher"! But being just one of five children in a large and still growing family (number six was in the oven), money constraints required the bargain bin sneakers. But I never forgot how badly I wanted a pair of Red Ball Jets, in the color of red and high tops. I did a Google search to show some friends the sneakers that I was referring to in the midst of a conversation... much to my pleasure, that was when I discovered my fortune of being able to fulfill one of my childhood dreams. "Run Faster, Jump Higher"? I don't know about all of that now... but sometimes dreams still come true. I'm 65 yrs old now... so some other times it just takes a while to get fulfilled.

    Still the best!

I’m old enough to remember when Red Ball Jets were the shoes EVERY kid wanted. Long before Nike, Adidas, or Reebok there were Red Ball Jets! I was happy to see that my updated Jets still have the very cool and stylish ribbed toe cap, and I like the quality, fit, and feel - definitely an A+ from me!
